About Alcázar of Seville
It took three flights and about 20 hours of travel to get to Seville for WordCamp Europe, so I figured I should visit a few of the local landmarks after the event was over. My colleague suggested Alcázar of Seville. It sounded particularly cool because the only palaces I had ever seen until Alcázar of Seville were those constructed specifically for renaissance festivals in the United States. If you happen to be in Seville, Alcázar of Seville is definitely worth an hour or two diversion (admission was 9€ when I visited). Pro-tip: Strongly suggest visiting Alcázar of Seville during daylight hours. The gardens (which make up a great deal of the property) are better viewed during the day, and all evening tours (with live actors from the period) are exclusively in Spanish. After visiting the palace, relax at one of the many restaurants / bars nearby.
