Merienda is a place I could visit every day
There’s a little coffee and wine bar in my neighborhood in Austin that I love to frequent. It’s got so much going for it. Uncompromising quality, farm-to-table values, friendly staff, and it’s just cozy. It’s not big, but it’s bursting with character and good vibes. That’s the feeling I got at Merienda. I love to explore and try new things, but I could spend every morning at Merienda and be completely content.
Breakfast was awesome at Merienda
I bumped into this spot on two different occasions. The first was when I was looking for breakfast, and the second was when my friends from the UK were looking for some cake and coffee. Breakfast was incredible, and can only be described as a gatherer breakfast with a dash of their award-winning smoked chicken. The chicken was cold. It was on the side. It was delicious. It all was. Listen, I’m no food and beverage critic, but my breakfast was top notch.
The next day, some friends from the area wanted to go to Merienda to grab some cake and coffee. While I didn’t have any cake myself, I can say that either my friends loved the cakes, or they were just hungry glutenous people that day. I think both were probably true. The only thing keeping me from enjoying the exquisitely presented (and seemingly scrumptious) cakes was the fact that I had eaten twice my body weight just hours before.
Who knows, maybe I was just at Merienda on two unique days when the service was awesome, the food was brilliant, and the vibe was warm and friendly. I have a feeling though, that I caught this place on a standard day of awesomeness. Visit this spot. It’s totally worth it.
