The surprise of Kéan Coffee
At first glance, the polished facade of Kéan Coffee seemed to imply a local coffee joint trying too hard to present itself as a mature, mass-market coffee brand. I guess I’m just used to finding good coffee in a more un-polished setting. I was also skeptical because I don’t usually trust the quality of a coffee joint that serves both a large variety of food and coffee. Boy was I wrong, and here’s why.
After I stepped into Kéan Coffee, the vibe painted a much different picture. Apparently the locals know what a well-rounded spot Kéan Coffee is because the line for a drink was at least 20 minutes deep. With a full selection of artisan sandwiches, snacks, and coffees, Kéan Coffee was a great place to grab a quick bite and some good conversation with Wandering Jon before I met up with more friends at WordCamp Orange County later in the morning. There’s also a large selection of whole bean if you happen to sip on something you want to brew every day.
Give Kéan Coffee a try
If you’re in the area, I strongly suggest trying out Kéan Coffee if you have the chance. The vibe is good, and the food and beverage offerings are well-rounded. You won’t find your favorite single-origin here, but you will leave satisfied. Just be prepared to wait if you’re there during a busy time.
