About Diesel Brew
I felt like 007 when I received the message that a package would be arriving at my residence unannounced. It was mysterious, but I also knew that Loren Nason (the dude that messaged me) was mixed up in Diesel Brew, a cold brew company based in California.
Loren sent a six-pack of Diesel Brew in purpose-built aluminum bottles (easier not to break when shipping). The packaging of the non-alcoholic, highly-caffeinated beverage is elegant, unique, and thoughtful.
The brand extends nicely to the Diesel Brew website, although I’d love to see more origin storytelling in the ‘Who’ section of the site. There’s also more detail needed on the product pages (for instance, how many bottles am I buying?).
I enjoy cold brew, and expect a good brew to be smooth, flavorful, fresh, and bright. If I’m reaching for a cold brew, I’m looking for refreshment. In-fact, while I didn’t throw this brew over ice, a great cold brew should be able to be enjoyed with ice and/or a shot of liquor.
Despite making a 1K+ mile journey and sitting in a mailbox for a couple days, this chilled brew was tasty from start to finish. I didn’t happen to see a CBV (caffeine by volume) printed on the bottle, but this stuff is definitely caffeinated. One bottle had me rocking hard for a full day (typically I’m a 2-3 cup sorta fellow).
Right now, Diesel Brew is sold exclusively in California, and shipped only to California, Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico. If you live outside of that area, start hoping for the addition of new destinations soon!
