About Square One Coffee
By the time we located the third non-Starbucks coffee shop early on a Saturday morning, I didn’t have much faith that we’d find anything but a weak un-inspired cup of coffee in downtown Philadelphia. The best coffee is often delivered on the wings of a nice surprise.
It was around 8am and my co-worker and I needed to be to Word Camp Philly by 8:30. Our only hope (I refuse to start an awesome day with a mediocre coffee) was Square One Coffee, and they delivered brilliantly.
Our Uber driver joined us as we ran in to grab a cup. Square One Coffee had just opened, and we were greeted with a smile and warm welcome. Since we were in a hurry, I settled for bulk-brewed coffee… and enjoyed every last drop. The coffee reminded me of Dera Ela which I had sadly run out of around a month ago. Ethiopia Adado is easily one of my new favorite brews.
The interior of Square One Coffee was smart, comfortable, and collected. The service was impeccable, and the drinks were top-notch. I’m glad I stumbled on this little gem in downtown Philadelphia.
