About Patika Wine and Coffee
One of my first introductions to the Austin Texas third wave coffee scene was Patika Coffee. While I’ll always have a special place in my heart for Cenote (the first coffee joint I visited in Austin), the Patika Coffee trailer on W 4th Street was so quintessentially Austin (great coffee out of a trailer and a seating area /w free wi-fi in the middle of a parking lot), it was hard not to fall in love.
After I made the move to Austin, I was a bit disappointed that I’d have to transport myself all the way downtown for my favorite friendly, expertly poured cup of joe— that is, until shortly after my move Patika Wine and Coffee opened a location on South Lamar, just a hop skip and a jump from my hood!
The relaxed vibe and diligent focus on sourcing cutting-edge coffee roasters and creating well-made drinks is as much a part of the South Lamar location as it is the original downtown spot. Patika Wine and Coffee is where I discovered my all-time favorite coffee (Derar Ela by Wild Gift), and a place that shows no sign of degrading quality as they grow.
Get to Patika Wine and Coffee or the original Patika Coffee and you won’t be disappointed (unless you’re a Starbucks or gas station coffee die-hard).
