About Inks Lake State Park
I got up for some early CrossFit training, and wasn’t able to hit the morning session because of some ill-fated logistics. The only thing left to do at 6am was to grab a camera and drive to a remote trail that I’d never hiked before. It was raining in Austin, and as I got closer to Inks Lake State Park, the clouds began to break. While I don’t love seeing man-made creations like boats and houses during a hike, the lake itself was beautiful, and the trail was interesting. The route moves through multiple ecosystems, and there were plenty of wildflowers beginning to bloom. Overall, it was a fun hike– I’m glad I did it, but it won’t be my first choice in the future because of the haul involved.
